Kemipol is founded in Izmir with 100% Turkish capital to be active in Automotive and Indsutrial Coatings businesses. Started to supply Industrial coatings within the same year.

Started to supply Automotive OEM coatings. Became one of the main paint suppliers of Turkish automotive market within 4 years. 

Started to supply Vehicle Refinishes to the market. Founded Kempa, Marketing company for Vehicle Refinishes.

Started to supply Automotive Coatings to Oyak Renault.
 

Founded polymer production plant at Kemalpaşa region in Izmir, which is the current production area of the company.

Moved all production and management activities to the site located at Kemalpaşa region, Izmir. Akzo Coatings acquired 51% of Kemipol shares. Company name changed as Akzo Kemipol, After the merger of Akzo and Nobel in 1994, company name changed as AkzoNobel Kemipol

Started technological collaborations with Japanese paint manufacturer Kansai Paint for the Japanese automotive producers in Turkey.

Started to supply Automotive Coatings to Toyota Turkey.

Enlarged existing R&D laboratories to 1.245 sqm area.
 

Started to produce Wood Coatings and started to supply paint for this market.

Started to produce and supply Coil Coatings, which was a newly developing market in Turkey. 

A technology license agreement is signed with KCC for the supply of automotive coatings to Hyundai's facility in Turkey.
 

Started to supply Plastic Coatings market. 

Started to supply Automotive Coatings to Honda Turkey.
 

Became an important producer of Vehicle Refinishes for neighbouring countries after 2 years of intense work.

Started to export Automotive Coatings to Magyar Suzuki Corporation.
 

Started to export big volumes of Wood Coatings to Romania.

AkzoNobel Kemipol transferred Automotive and General Industrial businesses to AkzoNobel Industrial and Automotive Coatings company.

Kansai Paint acquired AkzoNobel’s shares (51%)  at AkzoNobel Industrial and Automotive Coatings company. New company name became Kansai Altan Boya San. ve Tic. A.Ş. Kansai Altan is active in Automotive and General Industrial & Protective Coatings businesses.

AkzoNobel Kemipol, continues its activities in Vehicle Refinishes, Wood Coatings, Coil Coatings and Specialty Plastic Coatings. Almost all products of AkzoNobel Kemipol are produced by Kansai Altan, based on a Toll Manufacturing Agreement signed between two companies.
